Jennifer Halperin, a pupil from Ilford Jewish Primary School in Essex, is the winner of MDA's Junior Lifesavers competition! Jennifer faced competition from hundreds of children aged 7-11, from all over the UK.
The prize is 5 nights in Crown Plaza Hotel, Tel Aviv in association with Pall Mall Travel in Golders Green. El Al have kindly provided three courtesy flights. Jennifer and her family will be able to see MDA in action and how vital their work is in helping to save lives every day. They will be visiting the MDA Blood Centre in Tel Hashomer, which provides Israel's blood supply at all times as well as going on an ambulance.
The aim of the competition was to encourage children to learn about the work of MDA and to tell others about it. The money raised was for disposable medical equipment, which is in seriously short supply. A staggering £2,500,000 is spent every year by MDA just on items such as bandages, gloves and first aid kits.
Jennifer had the largest number of names on her donation forms and is very excited to be going to Israel and seeing MDA at work.
MDA UK would like to thank all the children, schools and cheders for participating in the competition - look out for next year's Junior Lifesaver's challenge!
