Six hours, 22 alarms, one day in the South
One does not have to read the whole long list that appears below, one does not need to know the exact times; one does not need to check how much time passed between each call. One just has to glance at this list, which shows what happens on one day in the South. It describes only the calls about missiles being fired in the direction of Israel, before anyone sets out, before the searches, before the treatment of victims and before their transferal. Every few minutes one hears the call: “Missile fired in the direction of…….teams get ready and protected”. When one sees the short time between calls, one understands that more than once the call has reached our teams whilst they are still in the field. “Nu” mumbled one of them “go and get on your protective gear”.
The MDA teams in the region were called 22 times to get ready – all this in the space of only six hours!!

The log book in the Lachish region Dispatching centre on the days from 27th February to 4th March, cannot be read in one breath, it is simply too long and full.
Other indications show the experience, great practice and professionalism the MDA teams in the region have developed, as in for example, the time from the minute the call is received until the teams reach the scene of the incident, or the swiftness and professionalism shown in the care and transportation.
For many days the people of Sderot have been reinforced with help from Jerusalem, until Thursday, 6th March, when the Jerusalemites returned to the capital (and in the evening were already rushing to the scene of the terrorist attack in the Mercaz Harav Yeshiva….).
