MDA UK Regional Office is responsible for all Jewish Communities from Birmingham and Nottingham up to Edinburgh, Glasgow and Aberdeen.
In December 2004, Magen David Adom UK established a Regional Office in Manchester with Richard Simon as its first UK Regional Director.
His brief is to raise the profile of MDA in the regions with an end-result of raising more funds.
The Regional Office takes in the following towns :-
Aberdeen, Belfast, Birmingham, Blackburn, Blackpool & St Annes, Bolton, Bradford, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Harrogate, Hull, Liverpool, Llandudno, Leeds, Manchester, Newcastle-under-Lyme, Newcastle-on-Tyne, Nottingham, Preston and Sheffield.
The Regional Office can assist donors in all aspects of giving whether they are Legacy, Celebration or just general donations. It can also issue MDA Certificates for celebrations.
Attention Donors in Leeds, Liverpool and Glasgow

Donate an Ambulance ?
Over the past twelve months, we have had donated a number of MDA Ambulances, MICU’s, 4x4’s and Blood Mobiles. If you are interested in donating an Ambulance, whether as a Synagogue, Association or simply as an individual, then look for the current prices on our “Shoppng List”. Manchester Grammar School Ambulance
On the 24th October 2007, we dedicated the Manchester Grammar School MICU (Mobile Intensive Care Unit) at the Jerusalem MDA Station. Funds for this were raised by the boys and their parents of the school under the direction of the High Master, Dr Christopher Ray. Following a lunch at the Dan Panorama in Jerusalem, the boys went to Tel Aviv and met HE The British Ambassador, Mr Tom Phillips, who congratulated the boys on their achievement.
MDA Regional News
In February 2007, we distributed to all Regional donors (with the exception of the Manchester area) copies of “MDA Regional News” which introduced donors to the Regional Office and the many ways that donors could give through Gift Aid and/or Bankers Orders. If you did not receive a copy, contact Richard Simon at the Regional Office.
Schools and University Jewish Societies
In September 2007, MDA UK launched a learning programme to all the Jewish schools in the Region with an aim of raising children’s knowledge of Magen David Adom and the work it does.
It also aimed to make contact with as many University Jewish Societies where students may have been on MADA projects prior to joining university.
Yom Ha’atzmaut 60 and Slaute to Israel 60
Magen David Adom was again one of the main sponsors of YH60 held in Manchester on Thursday, 8th May 2008. It is also involved in the organisation of Salute to Israel 60 on Sunday, 29th June 2008.
Hull
The Hull Friends of MDA held a lunch on Thursday, 11th October 2007 with Edwina Currie as Guest Speaker and have since held a “Celebrity Desert Island Discs” evening. Both events were very successful and two life kits have been purchased out of the proceeds. Their next event is a Garden Party on Sunday, 17th August 2008. Birmingham
On Tuesday, 1st May 2007, Yoni Yogosovsky, MDA’s International Director from Israel, spoke to a packed house at the Singers Hill Synagogue in Birmingham, and gave an update on the work of Magen David Adom in Israel.
Birmingham MDA volunteer Esther Shaylor also spoke about her experiences with with MDA in Israel and Simon Friend, who will be climbing Kilimanjaro this summer, spoke about his aims.
Manchester 2008 Dinner
The Manchester MDA Committee held a very successful Dinner at the Hilton Deansgate Hotel, Manchester, on Sunday, 11th May 2008. The Guest Speaker was Jamie P Rubin, the former US Secretary of State. Plans are now being made for the 2009 Dinner, keep watching this page.
Celebration Donations
Having a celebration but you don’t want a load of presents you don’t need ? Yes, well why not suggest to your friends that they make a donation to Magen David Adom which might then purchase a piece of valuable equipment that will be donated in your name.
